About Scott Allen

Scott Allen is an assistant professor at University of Nevada, Reno that studies the physical processes occurring in ecosystems and how they interact with vegetation structure and function. Research questions focus on the critical-zone and soil-plant-atmosphere interactions, advancing fundamental understanding of ecosystem processes and better representing them in predictions, models, and concepts. At present, Scott’s group is especially focused on the physical and physiological traits of ecosystems throughout succession after major disturbances. Work integrates a wide variety of field and modelling tools drawn from biometeorology, isotope hydrology, and plant sciences. https://sites.google.com/view/eeplaballenunr
